Matt Boyer, the primary founder and CEO of Zylter, has been looking over the horizon for more than two decades...
Matt is a combat veteran who joined the Army at the age of 17, graduated from West Point, and was a combat leader in Iraq and Afghanistan. As an Army officer Matt led reconnaissance teams and found his passion for discovering trends, opportunities, and disruptions that powers Zylter today. He used the GI Bill to gain advanced degrees in Urban Design and Public Management.
After the Army and graduate school, Matt led technology research for the RAND corporation, where he became known as an expert and published in the practical adoption of emerging technologies, to include autonomous vehicles, drones and extended reality. He has co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed reports on these and related topics. As a research leader and widely published author for the RAND Corporation, Matt gained experience leading creation of actionable strategy built on rigorous analysis and practical design.
Building upon his experience from RAND, Matthew then went on to found Zylter, a technology consulting firm that embodies the skills and values he honed from his early days as a reconnaissance leader. Matt has built an small and elite team that enables growth-minded companies to see over the horizon to spot emerging tech trends, opportunities, and disruptions for industry.
Matt’s journey instilled in him the core values of dedication to a cause, persistence, and the power of practical innovation that Zylter is built on…
In an increasingly tech-driven world, Zylter is dedicated to helping clients large & small with practical tech adoption through a deep understanding of their operations and growth priorities, approaching each engagement through the unique intersection of strategy, analysis, and design.
Zylter was born to provide an alternative to current strategic tech consulting and “innovation labs” that fail to address the needs of enterprises and start-ups with costly advice based on opaque analysis and lack of practical implementation support. The traditional tech consulting model provides repackaged advice from mostly inexperienced teams based on a "Because we said so" mentality. This results in a lack of actionable strategy to guide and build support for your tech initiatives.
Zylter is more practical than traditional strategic consulting and much more actionable than corporate “innovation” teams and labs. We provide as-needed expert support and tailorable methods and frameworks to plan and guide execution of your growth strategy. Zylter’s methods and frameworks merge rigorous analysis, compelling design, and actionable strategy. Our modular and practical approach provides a new, drastically improved paradigm for tech-focused strategy.
